From the day one JNUSU vice president Shehla Rashid and AISA JNU President Shweta Raj  had pointed towards the Sangh Parivar affiliated ABVP spreading lies among students fraternity that the HRD Minister had already agreed to Non-Net fellowship hence their is no need for the protest…when this did not deter the unity and the moral of the students ABVP goons were sent .@shehla_rashid ‪#‎rss‬ ideology is at work. ABVP don’t & can’t participate in discussions so violence/mis-behaviour it is. further according to Shehla’s day before yesterday;s update: ABVP hooligans have arrived at UGC and are creating ruckus, misbehaving with our activists and disrupting our peaceful, musical protest. Shame on these people for calling themselves a "students’ organisation". Not only are they sabotaging the movement to increase non-NET fellowship by creating confusion and spreading misleading news, they are also engaging in muscle-flexing here. The reports of heavy reinforcement by riot police at site further indicated that the administration is building up for confrontation.The AISA student activists were also sending message of an increasing presence of  ABVP goons at UGC asking friends/supporters to reach in large numbers at UGC.

Early morning 5.30 am the state struck on the top courageous student leadership of AISA resulting in several injuries on heads of girl students.

Arrested students at Balswara Haryana police station

Planned action by state, select targeted the activists and  forced them in two buses…to confine them on Haryana border police station named Bhalswa Diary police station. Totally illegal as once arrested the protesters should have been taken to the nearest police station why they were taken to a different police station outside the state to Haryana. On the other side large number of students who got the ITO traffic blocked as protest against the arrests were severely attacked by police again hurting large number of students, many of them are still hospitalized.

They have been lathi-charged by the Delhi Police. Several of our activists have been injured and are being taken to hospital. We condemn this inhuman treatment of activists struggling for the right to fellowship and reiterate our demand for increasing fellowship - Comrade Yashaswini from Delhi University injured in police action received stitches on her head. By the time news spread among supporters of the protesting students police had already forced cleared the ITO traffic jam and the Occupied space at the UGC complex.Around post noon the UGC staff was searching the websites with google search of the news on action by police against the protesting students.UGC chief Ved Prakash had earlier spoken to the VC JNU who has stood with his students and demanded revoking of cut on Non-net fellowships.Several teacher also started a signature campaign in solidarity with the Occupy UGC movement by students from last three days. Retweeted Vebhuti (@vebhuti): @Shehla_Rashid Shameful! The last update by Shehla Rashid has exposed ABVP and informed all of their release by police,she writes ‪#‎Occupy UGC‬ We have been released from the police station now and the comrades protesting at UGC have dispersed for now. However, the fight is far from over yet. We need to strike again with even larger numbers till the decision to scrap non-NET fellowship is revoked and fellowship is hiked.

This writer is of the opinion that Modi government and Sangh parivar considers the left front students wings as single biggest enemy for their capitalist embedded rule of India by using tools of communal fascism and  Manuwadi casteism for consolidation of upper caste votes.Since left parties are the only credible force in India which are coming together against the Communal fascist government of Modi’s rule and could provide an alternative at the center,the present onslaught against Occupy UGC should be seen in this perspective.

It is also shameful that unarmed students consisting of mainly girls were so brutally attacked by the state police..why ? Modi government will have to answer these actions of the government in coming days…?
