[Bismillahnews.in-07-12-15-New Delhi-Sohail Siddiqui] Hazrat Maulana Ahmad Mustafa Siddiqui Rahi [85] after prolonged illness due to cancer left for heavenly abode yesterday at 9.45 am.He started his career in journalism after completing his education from Darul uloom Deoband at the age of 22 as founder printer,publisher of Urdu Daily Nai Dunya along with his father Hazrat Maulana Abdul Waheed Siddiqui.He was the eldest son among 4 brothers and 4 sisters. He also contributed to the Urdu world as founder Editor of popular Urdu publications of the subcontinent like Monthly Urdu Digest "HUMA" and Islamic Digests "HUDA and TAHA", which are India’s largest circulated Islamic Digests in Urdu and Hindi and have significantly contributed to the propagation of Islamic values till date,Even when he was on bed during last six months he brought out singly special issues  of Huda.

Till date he is credited with 100 plus special issues of Huda islamic Digest which carry a special demand and weight in the scholarly circles.In his entire life he has been secular with personal associations.He inherited a rich family background of freedom fighters and went to jail several times along with his father in his journalistic mission post Independence as printer,publisher of Urdu Daily Nai Duniya,Delhi [1952-63].

Today his family is contributing richly to the cause of minorities,Urdu,Islam and multicultural values in India,particularly his youngest brother Janab Shahid Siddiqui who edits popular family Urdu Weekly Nai Dunya and Khalid Mustafa Siddiqui who has success publication like Pakeeza Aanchal and Mahakta Aanchal. After Ahmad Mustafa Siddiqui "Rahi" now Khalid Mustafa Siddiqui heads the siddiqui clan as the eldest.A condolence meeting has been organized by Mr.Shahid Siddiqui his brother editor Urdu weekly Nai Dunya on Thursday the 10 December 2015 at Ghalib Academy.

Hazrat Maulana Ahmad Mustafa Siddiqui "Rahi’s" main contribution which would be remembered is his founding of Islamic journalism in India through his publications Urdu Daily Nai Dunya,Hadaf, Huda and Taha which are equally held respectable and occupy popular space in all sects of Islam.His effort has given the Urdu readers world class Islamic reading material backed by research and authentic content.

Known as Abbu to his six children,Bhaijaan to his brothers and sisters,Mustafa to his friends,Rahi saheb to his colleague’s and Abba to his grand children he was extremely loved and respected.

Speaking to me at the gathering for Namaaz e Janaaza at Masjid Chakkarwali was Mohammed Afzal ex- MP and former Ambassador who was the first person to reach the spot, he apologized for his earlier engagement as he had a flight at 4pm.Mr.Afzal who too has served the cause of Urdu as editor of weekly Akhbar e Nau has openly given credit to Hazrat Maulana Ahmad Mustafa Siddiqui "Rahi" being his teacher in the journalistic field.Mr.Afzal recounted last Ramadhan when he had invited Hazrat Maulana Ahmad Mustafa Siddiqui Rahi as Chief guest to head the condolence meet at Ghalib Academy in Basti Hazrat Nizamuddin on sad demise of another celebrated Urdu Journalist Mr.Chandan.Mr.Afzal also informed that he has informed all those who were well wishers of Mr.Mustafa Rahi saheb of the place of burial and time of Namaaz e Janazaa.

Recounting the contribution of Janab Mustafa Rahi saheb Mr.Masoom Moradabadi and Mr.Jamshed Adil senior Urdu journalist expressed condolences on his demise as a big loss for the Urdu world.Many of Urdu lovers regular at Ghalib Academy too reached the place to share their condolences.Important among those were Mr.Gulzar Zutshi,Mr.Fazal e Haq, Mr.Mateen Amrohi.I have been receiving regular calls of condolences from all over India and world as the news spreads. Mufti saheb of Banaras Mufti Batin has too send his condolences on the news of sad demise of Hazrat Maulana Mustafa Siddiqui Rahi محترم جناب سهيل صديقي صاحب.سلام مسنون.والدمحترم كے اتقال پرملال کی خبرموصول هوءی.بہت افسوس ہوا.اللہ ان کی مغفرت فرماءے اورآپ حضرات كوصبرجميل مرحمت فرماءے.اوران كي خدمات كوقبول فرماءےآمين.والسلام.عبدالباطن نعمانی بنارس.

To me he was my father,friend,colleague and teacher and under his guidance I stepped into the world of journalism.It was his complete support that many like me in the Journalist world are today successful. Inshaallah this one man university will get his due and the seeds sown by him would bear fruits for the country and the community in the future.May ASWT bless him with the best of the place in Jannat ul Firdaus and bless me,my mother Sarwat Siddiqui,sister Saba Khan,brothers Aslam Siddiqui,Nadeem Siddiqui,Sulaiman Siddiqui,Rasheed Siddiqui ,and all the relatives and his friends,well wishers, colleagues with peace and strength to bear the loss of his company.The staff of Huda and Taha particulary Mr.Tariq also need ASWT’s blessings to be able to carry on with the mission.

The emotions at his burial yesterday by his former staff and colleagues displayed the power of his personality.His Namaaz e Janazaa was held post ASR Namaaz at Chakkarwali Masjid Nizamuddin where he performed his JUMA Namaaz for decades and his burial took place at Panjpeeran Qabristan Nizamuddin,New Delhi alongside his mothers and fathers graves.Tuesday’8th December2015 post Zuhar Namaaz for esaal e sawaab Quran khuwani would be held at Masjid Chakkarwali,Nizamuddin.
